Jun is a town of just over 4,328 inhabitants, near Granada, which has gained a worldwide reputation and fame due its adoption of 21st century internet technologies in the service of its citizens. Romano Prodi former President of the European Commission declared José Antonio Rodriguez the "Father of electronic–democracy" and his town Jun the birthplace of "Active Tele-democracy". On June 28, 2001, the town held its first fully interactive town hall meeting, which could be seen around the world via the internet.

The Socialists present a renewed candidature list to achieve "a political change"

José Chulvi was tonight declared by a unanimous vote of the local party members as the PSPV-PSOE candidate for Mayor of Xàbia. The Xábia socialists have chosen as its specific policy to make the change demanded by the local population. "From today we must continue to convey the message that change is possible, that with hard work, humility, seriousness and responsibility, we can give to the citizens of our town the alternative government they are demanding."

Here we are yet again, back in the plenary meeting hall to discuss the car parks issue, repeating history. Just as in the summer of 2005 when under great pressure, and exaggerated speed, the most economically damaging act was forced through by this Town Hall.
