The socialist candidate for Mayor of Xàbia Jose Chulvi has proposed creating a joint venture to promote local tourism as a step forward in the relationship between the Town Hall and the local business community of Xàbia. He also gave a firm commitment to new technologies and social networks to publicize the excellence of Xàbia’s tourism offer, through the local foreign residents. In this respect he highlighted the potential of the 90 nationalities among the citizens of Xàbia

Jorge Alarte the PSOE candidate for President of the Generalitat Valenciana, met with a group of businessmen from Xàbia and local Socialist leader, José Chulvi, to analyze the current economic situation of the town and the Valencian Community, and make concrete proposals aimed at exiting the economic crisis.

Jun is a town of just over 4,328 inhabitants, near Granada, which has gained a worldwide reputation and fame due its adoption of 21st century internet technologies in the service of its citizens. Romano Prodi former President of the European Commission declared José Antonio Rodriguez the "Father of electronic–democracy" and his town Jun the birthplace of "Active Tele-democracy". On June 28, 2001, the town held its first fully interactive town hall meeting, which could be seen around the world via the internet.

To bring about this change, the PSOE candidates in Xàbia have already been working for some time on the proposals we have for the future of our people. Further proposals will be developed during forthcoming meetings that we have planned with various groups of citizens.

José Chulvi was tonight declared by a unanimous vote of the local party members as the PSPV-PSOE candidate for Mayor of Xàbia. The Xábia socialists have chosen as its specific policy to make the change demanded by the local population. "From today we must continue to convey the message that change is possible, that with hard work, humility, seriousness and responsibility, we can give to the citizens of our town the alternative government they are demanding."

Here we are yet again, back in the plenary meeting hall to discuss the car parks issue, repeating history. Just as in the summer of 2005 when under great pressure, and exaggerated speed, the most economically damaging act was forced through by this Town Hall.

The position of Municipal Socialist Group is the same as last year, six months ago, and 15 days ago, "Do not pay a cent more for the car parks."
